Dolce and Gabbana have for always been true purveyors of masculinity and beauty. They make beautiful clothing so it makes perfect sense to in turn dress beautiful people in their clothing. If you follow Stefano Gabbana on twitter what you will often experience is a twitpic of a half-naked model preparing for a show or a shoot. He loves to share these. These gentleman are also clever to market their brand with many of the same models from one campaign to the next.

"A snapshot of mankind" reads their press release. A little bit of a stretch considering there aren't many of us that wake up looking like David Gandy every day. But okay, we'll bite. Dolce & Gabbana have decided that after all the years of surrounding themselves with the worlds most beautiful, it was time to bind them together and prop it on the coffee table of thousands of admirers and followers of the brand.

While many of the models are famous in their own way for various shows and campaigns it was Tony Ward that was given the privilege of his own section of the book. He is after all an icon of the 80s and 90s. They had this to say of him:

"Tony’s charm is almost primitive. He shows himself to and plays with the camera without filters. The result is a series of images which are drenched in sensuality and eroticism, thanks to the eloquence of a face and a body whose charm stands, unadulterated, the test of time."

Starring models including André Ziehe, AJ Abualrub, Antonio Navas, Andres Velencoso Segura, Chris Folz, Chris Garavaglia, Clint Mauro, Eduardo Oliver, Julien Quevenne, Miguel Iglesias, Sam Saffman and Tom Warren, the book is available now from Dolce & Gabbana stores.

The Golden Age by Leo Fuchs

I have an immense love for old photographs. Black and white photographs in particular. There is something lost in new age photography that these images seem to possess. In all the ease of snap,delete and touch-ups we have forgotten that beauty is in the mistakes.

Leo Fuchs was a special photographer. Unlike the barbaric behavior of modern day celebrity photographers, Fuchs was known to be a friend to the stars he snapped. This aided him in taking close-up, intimate photo's of his subjects without exploiting them.

Now, 60 years later the images have been bound and published. The book features Rock Hudson, Marlon Brando and my favorite Cary Grant among many others. The 240 page book published by Powerhouse even features an essay by the iconic photographer Bruce Weber.

He shoots, they sue.

Louis Vuitton might be all over the place and worn by celebrities from Pop Tarts to 'Ballers' but this is one ball they're not permitting to advertise. Filmed for a Hyundai commercial which was debuted in the very lucrative Superbowl spot. Hyundai allegedly used a basketball with the famous Louis Vuitton monogram without asking, and now they're ready to sue.

But at 3 seconds in the below shot was taken and it doesn't really look like the monogram in question-- but certainly similar. Petty or not?

Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Marton confirmed married

Although we will never really know what goes on behind the closed doors of a celebrity home, the paparazzi will somehow manage to photograph the one scene that will catapult a 100 magazine covers. And for whatever bizarre reason those abhorrent "publications" will get it right every so often. Case and point: Guy Ritchie and Madonna.

But on the lighter side of invasive "journalism" they also come up with harmless fodder for us! Like when it was reported that Marc Jacobs had wed his fiancé Lorenzo Martone while vacationing in St. Barts. It was rumored, but denied by reps.

Now in an upcoming interview with "Butt" magazine, Martone reveals that the two are, in fact, married!

I registered to vote, did you?

Of the many things that are fashionable in our society in this day, Politics seems to be on the rise. I tend to agree, voting for your country is definitely the right thing to do. Just look at the huge success of the US09 election. The world needs change, and Obama is certainly the necessary change for the Americans.

In South Africa we also have a divided opinion on who should run our country. I can't imagine a man like Jacob Zuma being considered to be our nations leader. You may recall this is the man who said that a shower would prevent him from contracting HIV Aids since he had sex with an HIV positive woman. I personally would like to see what Helen Zille and the DA could come up with.

If you don't register, you can't vote, and without a vote we can't make the changes we need!
