We are Awesome: Why yes, yes you are!
I guess these guys just know where to be at the right time. Once again I am loving what the team at W-A-A are coming up with. Below is a photograph of a gent in Kloof street that they snapped up. Awesome all over if you ask me.

Last night I attended the Mercedes Benz Fashion Exhibit where Stiaan Louw and a couple other local designers showcased their entries. While I won't get into that just yet, I do have this photo of Stiaan and I to show you.

I had to take a picture of Aaron because of his awesome jewelry. It was purchased the day before at a stall in the Waterfront - it's an Ethiopian Blessing cross! All he did was add a neck-string and there you have it. See how easy it is boys?

White jeans never look better than when paired with black—be it a polo shirt or a V-neck sweater.

White sneakers work great with white jeans, as long as the sneaks have some detailing. Wear all-white tennis shoes and you’ll look like a male orderly.

White jeans say summer. Bring a pair with you when you head to the beach for a week and wear them with everything from flip-flops to an unbuttoned shirt.

Do like most of the guys here and wear your white jeans without a belt for a lighter, leaner look. Just make sure the jeans fit well.

Karl proves my belief that Fashion doesn't need the luxury of a trust-fund (although I can see how that would help!). Thrift stores are great for finding fun pieces to add to a wardrobe. Everything he's wearing cost him next to nothing and it's a great look.

I feel like a tosser for losing their names but I have been wanting to post these two for some time. In classic township style they have come to the city for the day wearing their 'Sunday' Best. Everything they're wearing is in pristine condition and worn proudly. What made me ask them for their picture was the colouring of their outfits. Note the light pinks and blue used to combine with the beige tones and the hats! Light trousers and dark jacket, or light trousers and baby blue blazer. The structure is quite common in their culture but these two seemed to understand it better. I quite enjoyed seeing the man on the left advising his friend on their next pose. Great stuff boys.
It reminded me so much of Paul Smith's Spring 2008 collection where he dressed his models in opposing prints and colours but made it work. He is, after all known for doing that. And although these prints are darker I still think it applies.

St. Patricks day Debauchery
Oh, how I love Green beer. In the spirit of St.Patty's day I was able to sample a few and then proceed to take the kinds of pictures you don't understand in the morning. I do remember pointing to my green beer a lot... I've also never been hugged so much, by straight male strangers no less. All great fun!

Jon Paul, or J.P as he’s affectionately known is a Cape Town native. He’s responsible for bringing brands like Scotch and Soda into our city. His buys are smart and rotate often- his cliental are trendy, educated folks who appreciate smaller stock counts to the more mass produced variety. J.P’s store, The Loading Bay is situated in the up-and-coming-yet-already-trendy De Waterkant nestled in with a Bistro that makes a pretty damn good cup of coffee!
Now he’s ventured off into another brand which we at Man of the Cloth are coveting in a big way; Blue Blood, which opened it’s doors three days ago on Bree Street.

When I saw these two I tossed my biscotti and asked to take their picture. I asked them where they were from, expecting them to reply in some Dutch accent but it wasn't so. Locals! It was just refreshing to see these sixteen year olds (who happen to be a couple) dressed differently from the pack. Open the pictures to see the detailing. The sassy confidence that Azuli has is a perfect accessory, and I can see their style progressing nicely as they grow.

JACO FROM CAPE TOWN
When I stopped this gentleman and took his photo I was surprised to find out his jacket was from local designer Craig Port, not because he isn't a talented (and dare I say very good-looking) designer but I expected Jaco and his jacket to be from overseas. Not so. The summer to autumn mix works very well in this case, considering they are all very light fabrics. I also like the shoes very much- and have noticed the flat boat shoe to be quite popular among the fashionable boys here in Cape Town.

This man was kind enough to let me photograph him. I loved the flower pocket detailing and the contrasting greys and pink that unfortunately don't pop out properly on the photo. I'm really not a fan of loafers in general but these are great and finish off the look without being too over the top.
