WISHLIST: D&G SUNGLASSES

Photobucket
I stumbled upon these sunglasses recently. I'm all for natural shapes for men so it surprised me how much I loved these once I tried them on. Apart from my matte black wayfarers from Sunglass Hut I don't really wear black. If you're not careful in choosing the right size for your face you can look as if you're pulling inspiration from the Terminator. Proportion is key. Ask a sales assistant from Sunglass Hut about styles for your face shape until you find the perfect pair.

As for me, these D&G sunnies (DG8076) which only go for R1750 will in all likelihood find their way into my shirt pocket before long.

Gucci Sandals with horsebit buckle ring. (232435 AHJ00 1508)

And some other sandals I posted last year here.

Givenchy Gladiator studded shoes

Remember these Pierre Hardy shoes I coveted last year? Well it seems that Givenchy have gone and put their own spin on this shoe as seen on JakandJil. The studded shoe is making big waves on the fashion scene with jackets and shoes and even denim and so it's not a big surprise that men got in on it too. And it's so high-fashion one wonders just who will wear it?

Riccardo Tisci’ s S/S 10 collection was a “homage to Michael Jackson”. Before you roll your eyes, Tisci had been commissioned by Jackson’s ‘people’ to design (and one would imagine have finished) the costumes for Jackson’s up coming concert dates in London

I definitely would. Wishlist, anyone?

The Coveted: Burberry

Photobucket

This Burberry delight is my current obsession!

The Coveted: Cameron Foden

I discovered this FANTASTIC jacket on photographer Brett Rubins blog this morning and now am determined to get hold of it. The designer is Cameron Foden who currently resides in Antwerp, Belguim. He's a local Capetownian doing wonderful things in menswear-- which is why he's on Man of the Cloth. He recently took part in an exhibition at Whatiftheworld, called the Samson Syndrome which can be seen here.

The Coveted: Rag and Bone

Photobucket

Similar to that which was made famous by Jimi Hendrix all those years ago, the Military style in menswear joins us once more. This gorgeous grey jacket with slanted multi-buttoning and military pin was unveiled at the Rag and Bone show in NYCFW on September 11th 2009. In Wainwrights own words 'The more structured the top, the more casual the bottom' which is a great approach to dressing oneself with beautiful jackets or statement pieces.

Take a look at this and other shows here!

I know it's freezing cold in Cape Town but I still can't help but look at Sandals online. Even today, with Winter well upon us, it's Sunny outside, so while I won't be donning my pink swim trunks from Paul Smith, I can somewhere in jeans and sandals! These from Tim Hamilton are $550. Yikes, but still beautiful. If you're looking to buy yourself a pair (for me, of course) then go here!

I am bummed that these fantastic shoes are not making their way to our local Paul Smith store but I really want a pair... or two. Fantastic colours, retailing for 175GBP. Somebody? Anybody??

D&G BOAT SHOES R5100 roughly ($490) available on dolcegabanna.it

The glorious thing about Fashion, I find, when it changes hopefully you do too. I was never a fan of boat shoes, but have recently coveted the above pair and hope to acquire them. Worn with carelessly rolled trousers or shorts is the way to go for me. It's simple, and perfect for Cape Town weather. I imagine this to be perfect weekend attire for your relaxed gentleman. It says a lot more about your style than a pair of Haviana's, don't you agree?

WISHLIST

Grey Cardigan from K by Karl Lagerfeld now only 112GBP from ASOS.

If you would be so kind...

Ah, the things we want in life. My father would argue that a functioning watch is all you need, regardless of how it looks. But this one is just so pretty! If anyone knows a guy, who knows a guy you can send me one- my birthday is around the corner! ;)

These watches are fast becoming popular on our shores, and they sell for roughly R2000 ($195). They come in a variety of different fun colours, and if you ask me the brighter the better. They contain tritium markers that glow in the dark so that even in a time of load-shedding one can look stylish-- and of course be able to tell the time!

Alternatively you can get this "cheapo pink" watch for 21.50 GBP from ASOS. There are hundreds of cool watches to choose from and in a day where fakes are running rampant who needs a ridiculously expensive watch until you can comfortably afford one? Fashion is not about the label or the price, rather how you carry it!

TIMEX IN LIME FOR 44.50 GBP

Chad White is one of the spokes-models for H&M's latest campaign. He wears a particularly gorgeous grey knit I found on their online store. The green knit is also mighty nice! But we South Africans are waiting and praying for the day that H&M drop on our doorsteps!
And as for these knits... Christmas is around the corner people! :D

Shawl collar knit from D&G

UPDATE:

This knit is a close replica and is from TopShop (which opened recently in New York) It can be purchased online here. It also comes in a couple interesting colours, the cranberry one is also pretty great.
